
Healthy Dinner Ideas
Eating a healthy dinner is an important part of maintaining a balanced diet and supporting overall health and well-being not only for you but for the whole fam. I know it’s hard to always think of new ideas, but with a little meal planning you can save so much money on not throwing unused food out.
Here are five family-friendly healthy dinner ideas to try:
- Baked salmon with roasted vegetables: Salmon is a tasty and healthy source of protein, and baking it only takes 12 minutes. Serve it with roasted vegetables, such as carrots, onions and sweet potatoes, for a balanced and satisfying meal.
- Chicken Wraps: Grab a BBQ chicken on the way home, while it’s in the bag scrunch up the bag and all the meat will come away from the bones. Put avo on the wraps, top with chicken, tomato, lettuce and anything else your family loves. Serve with brown rice for a complete meal.
- Chicken and vegetable stir-fry: Stir-fries are a quick and easy way to get a balanced meal on the table. Start by chopping the chicken into bite-size pieces, cooking chicken in a pan with garlic, ginger and soy sauce then add a mix of vegetables, such as broccoli, capsicums and carrots.
- Lamb burgers: Grab lamb mince, add chopped onion and mint jelly, and roll into burger patties. Aint nobody got time for eggs and breadcrumbs. Cook burgers, and open buns, top with Greek yoghurt, lettuce and tomatoes.
- Slow Cooker Burittos: Pop some chicken breasts in the slow cooker and cover them with pasta sauce. Add canned corn, beans or anything your family likes. Let it slow cook while you’re at work. Once the chicken is cooked you can pull the meat apart with a fork so you now have shredded chicken burrito mix. Grab wraps, fill wraps with burrito mix, avocado and Greek yoghurt. Wrap in alfoil for that authentic burrito feel.
